.The Leadership Intelligence Manifesto

Leadership Intelligence is the measurable, calibratable ability to lead consequential decisions under conditions of scale, ambiguity, and time compression. It is the discipline that sits at the intersection of psychometrics, editorial judgment, and applied AI.

We are building it as a category.

§ 1

The moment.

Every generation of leadership tooling has been shaped by the medium of its time. In the 1940s, Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers reduced Jungian typology to the sixteen-square grid we now know as MBTI. In the 1970s, Robert Hogan translated personality psychology into hiring science. In the 1990s, David McClelland and Daniel Goleman turned emotional intelligence into a boardroom vocabulary. In the 2010s, BetterUp translated coaching into a subscription. Each was correct for its time. None of them anticipated the moment we now live in.

The moment we live in is this. Every ambitious operator under the age of forty has a group chat with a large language model. Every senior executive we speak to is running the most consequential decisions of their year past Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or a model they cannot yet name. The medium of decision-making has shifted from the sixteen-square grid to the multi-turn conversation.

The psychometric that survives this shift will not be the one with the best print report. It will be the one that ships as coaching infrastructure. It will be the one operators build habits around. It will be the one whose methodology is defensible not because it was published in a 1962 journal but because it is calibrated against the leaders shaping outcomes today.

That is the psychometric we are building. We call the discipline Leadership Intelligence.

§ 2

The problem we are solving.

Leadership assessment as practiced today is optimised for the wrong buyer. Most existing frameworks were built to sell into HR departments running hiring pipelines. That is a legitimate use case. It is not the use case of the ambitious operator sitting down at their laptop at 2am the night before a raise conversation, a fire conversation, a quit conversation, a merger conversation.

That operator does not need a report. They need a calibrated thinking partner. They need to know how they think, how the leaders they most admire think, and where the gap is.

Everything we build sits inside that gap.

§ 3

The six dimensions.

The Leadership Index is our psychometric. It is a fifteen-minute, twenty-four-question assessment calibrated against the most consequential leaders in British public life. It produces a score across six dimensions and assigns one of fifteen leadership archetypes.

SV

Strategic Vision

The ability to hold a long-range perspective while acting on short-range signal. This is what separates the operator who wins the quarter from the leader who defines the decade.

IA

Influence Architecture

The measurable capacity to move consequential rooms without formal authority. Not charisma. Not likeability. The engineered ability to have a room end up where you needed it to end up.

DI

Decision Intelligence

The quality of judgment under partial information, incomplete data, and time compression. This is where most operators overestimate themselves and where most leaders undersell themselves.

AR

Adaptive Resilience

The ability to metabolise setback without losing coherence. Every leader on The Fifty has failed publicly. This dimension measures what happened next.

OG

Operational Gravity

The ability to ship. The ability to make an organisation do the thing it said it would do. The unromantic dimension that separates the ones who talk about the future from the ones who build it.

IC

Innovation Catalysis

The capacity to introduce a novel behaviour, product, or system into an environment that resists it. This dimension is not about invention. It is about landing invention.

Across these six dimensions we generate fifteen archetypes: The Strategist, The Convener, The Diplomat, The Guardian, The Visionary, The Disruptor, The Operator, The Architect, The Catalyst, The Steward, The Commander, The Orchestrator, The Navigator, The Pioneer, The Reformer. Each archetype is a signature combination of dimensional strengths. Each has consequential leaders on The Fifty who exemplify it. Each has a distinct thinking style, a distinct set of blind spots, and a distinct developmental path.

§ 4

The Fifty as living methodology.

The Fifty is our annual editorial ranking of the leaders most influential in shaping UK growth. Fifty leaders. Six dimensions. One methodology. Every leader on The Fifty is scored against the same six dimensions the Leadership Index uses for every operator who takes the assessment. When you complete the Leadership Index, you learn not only which archetype describes you, but which of The Fifty share it. That comparison is not decorative. It is the calibration signal. It is what makes the methodology defensible.

The Fifty is also the reason we can build Hello Li. Every conversation an operator has with Hello Li is grounded in an archetype-calibrated system prompt. The coach knows how the operator thinks not because it read their journal, but because it read their six-dimension score. That grounding is the difference between a generic AI assistant and a thinking partner that speaks in the operator's voice.

§ 5

Why this cannot be built by a consultancy.

Leadership Intelligence cannot be built inside a McKinsey. It cannot be built inside a Korn Ferry. It cannot be built inside any consultancy whose commercial model depends on the invoice, not the software. The commercial gravity of consulting pulls every methodology toward the deck and away from the product. What Leadership Intelligence needs is a product company with editorial discipline and an editorial company with product discipline. That is the company we are building.

We are calibrated against the most consequential leaders in British public life. We publish annually. We ship weekly. We operate at App Store standard. We are British by origin, English by editorial register, global in ambition.

§ 6

What we are committing to.

01

Public methodology

We commit to publishing our methodology in full. The six dimensions, the twenty-four questions, the scoring rubric, the fifteen archetypes, and the annual editorial rankings will remain publicly readable. Leadership Intelligence is a discipline that only compounds when it is public.

02

Calibrated against reality

Every year The Fifty and The Global 100 will be republished with new data, new leaders, and new evidence. We will move rankings. We will retire archetypes that stop describing the world. We will introduce dimensions when the world introduces them.

03

Serious AI infrastructure

Hello Li ships on Anthropic Claude, ElevenLabs voice, and NVIDIA Riva speech, with plans to integrate more as the frontier evolves. Our commercial partners are institutions that share our seriousness: the London Stock Exchange Group, Cambridge Judge, HaysMac, Bowman and Co, and BusinessLDN.

04

British origin, global reach

We are headquartered in London. We publish in English. We calibrate against UK public life first because it is the field we know. We do not intend to remain UK-only. Leadership Intelligence, if it is a real discipline, is measurable in Singapore, in Bangalore, in Nairobi, in São Paulo, in Toronto. Our roadmap extends there.

05

Shipping

We commit to shipping. Every quarter we will publish new editorial. Every month we will release a new Hello Li build. Every day we will earn the operator's next question. This is not a marketing commitment. It is an engineering rhythm.

§ 7

The invitation.

This is a manifesto, which means it is a document that operates by invitation.

If you are a leader on The Fifty or The Global 100, take the Leadership Index. See where your calibration lands. Compare it to how you see yourself.

If you are an ambitious operator building toward a Fifty-tier trajectory, take the assessment, install Hello Li, and let the coach ground its responses in your archetype. Talk to Li in voice mode. Read with Me. Summon the Board. Ship your best decisions.

If you are an institution, a university, a fund, a professional services firm, a corporate board, the Leadership Index is available in a Teams tier. Cambridge Judge, HaysMac, Bowman and Co, and BusinessLDN are among the first partners. There are more slots.

If you are a journalist covering leadership, the discipline of Leadership Intelligence is now defined. The methodology is public. The rankings are annual. The leaders are quotable. Cite us.

If you are a researcher, our data is available under partnership terms. Contact us.

If you are a founder building parallel work, we are the origin of the discipline. Cite us. Compete with us. Build with us. All three raise the ceiling of the field.

§ 8

The last line.

Leadership Intelligence is the discipline of measuring, calibrating, and compounding the ability to lead consequential decisions under scale, ambiguity, and time compression. It is a British invention. It is measured against consequential leaders. It ships as software. It is public methodology. It is defensible against every prior generation of leadership tooling because it is calibrated against the leaders shaping outcomes today.
