The D.O.C. reads as The Guardian because his life's work has been custodial, often at his own expense. Ghostwriting foundational West Coast rap for NWA, Snoop, and Dre meant safeguarding legacies that would never bear his name. His 35-year fight to reclaim his publishing rights and his current work through Dreams Experience Academy follow one instinct, preserve, inherit, protect. He leads not through self-promotion but through devotion to what survives.
