Sayeeda Warsi

Sayeeda Warsi fits The Reformer archetype because her leadership has been defined by pushing institutions she belongs to towards change from within. As the first Muslim woman to sit in a British Cabinet and co-chair of the Conservative Party, she broke barriers, then used her position to press her own party on Islamophobia, integration and social cohesion, often at personal political cost. Her 2014 resignation as a Foreign Office minister over the government's Gaza policy showed a willingness to sacrifice office for principle, a hallmark of reformist leadership. In the Lords and through her writing she has continued to campaign for internal party inquiries and structural accountability.
