OTA LEADERSHIP INDEX

Sayce Holmes-Lewis

ARCHETYPE

The Diplomat

People, composure and the difficult conversation held well.

Sayce Holmes-Lewis is a British systems-change leader operating at the intersection of lived experience, public policy and institutional reform. He is the founder and chief executive of Tivity, a youth and community organisation rooted in Southeast London which has evolved under his leadership from a grassroots mentoring operation into a civic institution: over £1.5 million in strategic investment secured since 2023, more than 3,000 young people supported in the past year alone, and a permanent physical home, Tivity House, in the Faraday Ward of Southwark, the most underserved ward in the borough by the deprivation index. He is a serving member of the London Policing Board, the youngest member of the body appointed in the aftermath of the Casey Review to provide independent oversight of policing reform across the capital. He is a proud former resident of the Aylesbury Estate, one of the largest housing estates in Europe at its peak, home to 70,000 people, and his leadership is grounded in 43 years of association with that community, the first 25 of which he lived on the estate. Tivity's partnership portfolio includes Spotify (cornerstone investment plus the 2024 documentary “The Centre”, which spotlighted Tivity House as a model of youth infrastructure in a regeneration zone), Goldman Sachs (a £675,000 three-year cornerstone investment on top of approximately £275,000 prior, totalling nearly £1 million over five years), Channel 4, Sky (free Wi-Fi through the Sky Up programme) and Hobson's Charity (digital infrastructure including a 4K projector and full content-creation kit). The Tivity House podcast suite and digital studio are now operational. Tivity also runs an alternative educational provision for young people at risk of permanent exclusion, headed by Sayce's mother as head teacher, with DfE/Ofsted registration in progress. He appeared on Off The Agenda hosted by Sir Charles Bowman in a haysmacintyre-sponsored episode, interviewed by Natalie Ojevah and Chloe Hoggard. The conversation is unusually rich source material: a sustained articulation of a coherent leadership philosophy ("prevention as economic infrastructure, not charity"), grounded in specific operational metrics, named institutional partners, and 43 years of lived evidence.
