Nancy Lieberman is The Pioneer by any measure, her career a ledger of firsts achieved without institutional backing. The youngest U.S. Olympic basketball player, the first woman to play in a men's pro league, the first female assistant coach in the NBA, she forced her way into Lakers practice and negotiated her own contract using Julius Erving's ABA deal as a template. With 129 Dream Courts built, she still operates ahead of the field.
