He described taking the Michigan job as bigger than himself, naming his grandmother's values, the professional risk his athletic director assumed, and his assistant coaches' livelihoods as weights he willingly carries. Returning to his alma mater to reclaim what the Fab Five could not finish, his competitive drive runs through institutional loyalty, not personal ambition.
