JT (Jatavia Shakara Johnson)
The Pioneer
The frontier and an appetite for the unknown, goes first.
JT stands as The Pioneer through sheer forward motion against structural adversity. She recorded an album the night before self-surrendering to prison, built City Girls from a halfway house, and reframed incarceration as the crucible of her artistry. Her leadership is raw and self-authored, from initiating the group concept and recruiting Yung Miami to consciously reclaiming her narrative after years of public misreading. Her drive is instinctive rather than strategic, and it clears its own path.
“It was literally, do what or die? So it's like use my talent or you phone right now. And I went to the studio.”
“I was making twenty thou and I gonna come back home with twenty thousand in one run. I was a born hustler.”
“Going to the studio and putting out this — not being afraid. I wasn't afraid then. I was so bold. I just knew they was gonna work with it.”
